BUTLER DOES IT AGAIN WHILE THIRD TIME IS A CHARM FOR SDSU, BUT NOT UCLA
Craig takes one-point lead while Joker's Wild goes 7-1

PHOENIX, AZ/CERRITOS, CA (smt)-  In one of the most bizarre endings, #8SE-Bulter and #1SE-Pitt exchanged dumb, inconceivable fouls just 0.6 seconds apart with the Bulldogs coming out on top as Pitt is the first #1 seed to fall.  Both were clear fouls and both came in non-shooting situations.  But had Pitt hit the second go-ahead free throw, Pitt's dumb foul wouldn't have happened (with 1.4 seconds, would you pull your defenders off the line?).  #2W-San Diego St. had the last possession in regulation and failed to score and the last possession of the first OT and failed to score.  But they made sure in the 2nd OT to not leave anything in double winning by 7.  #7SE-UCLA battled #2SE-Florida to the final minute, but for the third time, Florida bounces UCLA out of the tourney.  In the double-digit matchup, #12SW-Richmond took care of #13SW-Morehead St.  #4SE-Wisconsin rallied to win while #3W-UConn won the first of two Big East 3rd round matchups beating #6W-Cincy.  #4E-Kentucky and #3SE-BYU struggled in their victories.

Joker's Wild went 7-1 for the day to go from tied for 35th to 6th (69 pts) but it is Craig (what a unique nickname (sighs...)) (76) who is on top displacing The Downtown Fiction by a point.  Nineteen went 6-2 as the pool standings are starting to separate.  Keebler's Three Sum and Sisyphus tied a record low set by five others in going 1-7 and are tied for last in 124th place (47).  It's 124th and not 125th as one entry (Elvis26) was entered by mistake from someone who found us on the web (probably didn't know there was an entry fee, but at least he responded back).  So we will have 125 entries (it will be official on Monday).  You Can't Beat Me is trying to live up to his name and make a comeback going from 122nd-Tied to 86-T (86).  Three actually had Richmond in the Sweet 16 and four had Butler.  Five entries lost 5 Sweet Sixteen teams today with LLOYD CHRISTMAS (53rd-T, 60) losing 4 of his Elite 8 teams (he's 1 of 3 who only have four left).  Thirteen lost Pitt as their champ and Jason97782's (34th-T, 63) Bruin pride was ruined.

We'll know after tomorrow's games which entries have been eliminated.  Money distribution and Bonus prize info coming early next week.

You can now view the standings, team distribution, individual choice distribution, everybody's bracket, and who's who.  Mini updates will be on our homepage (blog) and discussion can occur on our Discussion Forum or Facebook

Tids & Bits - Pitt lost its fourth straight tourney game against a lower seed... Seven is heaven as Butler's Shelvin Mack (owner of Butler's dumb foul) and BYU's Jimmer Fredette both hit 7 of 12 three-pointers... just 56 had BYU and 61 (less than half) had Wisconsin... eight entries are celebrating their 10th anniversary with the pool... with Elvis26 dropping out, that means we have 97 people (2nd highest) in our pool but only 7 new people have joined our pool this year (yet we increased our entries by 8)...

Glad to be home from Phoenix (no offense)
