ONE DEFENDING FINALIST REACHES ELITE 8 AND IT AIN'T DUKE
Chief's Revenge goes 3-1 but Craig still on top

CERRITOS, CA (smt)-  The early games featured Mountain West upstarts and exciting games, but in the end, #3W-UConn outlasted #2W-San Diego St., 74-67, and #2SE-Florida repaid #3SE-BYU's OT victory last year with one on their own, 83-74.  The Aztecs were up by four late before a technical foul was called, allowing the Huskies to go on a 16-3 run.  The Gators missed 12 of 22 free throws but still managed to win.  BYU's Jimmer Fredette was scoreless in OT but still managed his third 30+ point game.

The nightcap featured two routs, in much different fashions, as #1W-Duke had a rare total collapse as #5W-Arizona kept the Pac-10 alive with a 93-77 thrashing of the Blue Devils.  Arizona trailed 53-47 before going on a 19-2 run to put the game out of reach.  I didn't know Duke had an off switch like that.  It was bizarre watching them seemingly "give up" as nothing went their way.  #8SE-Butler dominated #4SE-Wisconsin and led 47-27 before trying to give the game away with turnovers.  The Badgers got within 53-49 but ending up losing 61-54.  Who would've thought that of the two finalists last year, Butler go further than Duke.

Chief's Revenge went 3-1 for the day to move from 117th-Tied to 72nd-T (74 pts) place.  Despite the move though, he was already eliminated.  Craig remained in first with 98 points with The Downtown Fiction in second with 95.  Twenty-four (24) went 0-4 for the day.  Chief's Revenge and LLOYD CHRISTMAS (24th-T, 83) were the only ones to pick Arizona and Joker's Wild (6th-T, 89) was the only one to pick Butler.  Just 46 have a chance to win money but 20 still can win the pool.  Craig has an 83.9% chance for money and nearly 50% (49.6%) to win the pool.  Keebler's Three Sum (62) is tied for 121st but can still win 2nd while Pack Rat is 98th-T and can still win 1st.  Flying Ace (90) is tied for 4th but can't finish higher than 2nd.

As for the Bonus, the Big East has 10 wins with a chance for 15.  The SEC has six wins with a chance for 11 and the ACC has 6 wins with a chance for 15.

Tids & Bits - 77 picked Florida and 66 picked UConn... 110 had picked Duke to advance... Sisyphus is now in last with 59 pts...three entries are still alive thanks to the 6th place prize being added... BYU's loss eliminated me from 1st while Duke's loss eliminated my second entry Thomas Chuggington (56th-T, 77) which was one of 18 eliminated due to Arizona's win...
