    FOR ONE DAY, ALL THE HIGHER SEEDS WON IN CONVINCING FASHION
    MM's take home money as four fight for final two money spots

     PASADENA/LA MIRADA, CA (smt)-  #1MW-Michigan St. struggled
with #8W-Wisconsin and didn't hit one field goal in the last 11:42
of the first half holding on to a 19-17 halftime lead.  The 
Spartans took control in the second half with a 13-2 run to win
easily 53-41.  In the second game, #5E-Florida jumped out to a
18-3 lead before #8S-North Carolina cut it to three at the half.
UNC actually took the lead in the second half before star Ed Cota
picked up his fourth foul.  Florida then seemed to wear down UNC
and took advantage of it pulling away 71-59.  Both #8 seeds lost
in one of the most unpredictable tourneys ever.  

     MORALES' MOUNDS (1st-$1, 110) becomes our sixth different
Pool champion when Michigan St. won.  Also, THE MIGHTY MOBELFAKTA
(3rd-$, 102) clinched at least 4th Place and JAFMAN (15th-e, 94)
was eliminated with the Spartan win.  With Florida winning, it
kept PATTO's (10th-2, 96) hopes alive though he can't win first
now and prolonged the agony of THE FABONE VI (4th-3, 101) who must
now await the outcome of the Championship game instead of winning
at least 4th Place.  CRAIGS99 (5th-4, 100) can still win 4th if
Michigan St. wins on Monday which would bump JACKASS (2nd-3, 104)
out of the money picture.  Twenty-four people picked up one win
(23 for Michigan St., 1 for Florida) in trying to salvage a
topsy-turvy pool.  For the second straight year, at least one person
will pick the correct NCAA champion with 13 picking the Spartans and 
PATTO picking the Gators.  Five more people topped the century mark
but FLYINGELVI (31st-e, 79) and BIGSPIDERBECK's (35th-e, 74) streak
of five consecutive 100+ point pools came to an end.

          THIRD PLACE :   $ 60.00 (16.7%)
          FOURTH PLACE:   $ 30.00 ( 8.3%)

If FLORIDA beats MICHIGAN ST in the final, then ...
