                     2000 HWCI NCAA TOURNAMENT POOL
                     ==============================

FLORIDA SHUTS DOWN OK STATE WHILE UNC STOPS TULSA
Patto still alive and keeps pool interesting with Florida win

LA MIRADA, CA (smt)- Like yesterday, a #8 seed, with 22 wins
and 13 losses will make the Final Four. Freshman Joseph Forte's
28 points led #8S-North Carolina to a 59-55 win over #7S-Tulsa.
UNC, whose streaks of consecutive NCAA tournament trips and 20-win
seasons were once in jeopardy, made its record 15th trip to the
Final Four. They will play #5E-Florida who outclassed #3E-Oklahoma
St., 77-65. The Oklahoma-based teams went 0 for 2 today.

The game pool players were watching was the Florida-OSU game.
Florida's win kept PATTO's first-place hopes alive (12th, 88).
Nothing much changed in the standings as only two picked Florida
and no one picked UNC in the worst 3rd Round picking ever.
28 went 1-3 for the tourney and 8 of the 36 entries went 0-4.
Of the previous 117 entries, only six have gone 0-4. The combined
28 wins by the 36 entries in the Fourth Round is just three more
than in 1995, where just 12 entries picked a total of 25 correct.

PATTO will keep things interesting as THE MIGHTY MOBELFAKTA
(3rd-3, 94) would have clinched a money spot (instead of relying
on a possible tiebreaker) and MORALES' MOUNDS (1st-$, 102)
would have clinched 1st Place had OSU won. Now there are six
possible scenarios (of 8 total) instead of three making things
interesting. Six entries will vie for the final three money
spots (with MOUNDS taking at least 2nd Place). Only PATTO has
a stake with Florida in the right bracket while everyone else
will ride with Michigan St. in the left bracket.

On Monday, the Final Four possibilites will be analyzed
(up on the website now at http://www.HWCI.com/ncaa/f4poss.html or
http://www.HWCI.com/ncaa/final40326.txt) with who will win what
with what combination.

everyone else's picks, and posting messages:
